Benched

I think that one of the classic rules of thumbs in the design world is that if you put a bench or pair of chairs at the end of a bed...it looks good...it's a nice place to sit and put your shoes on...OR if you are like me it's a nice place to throw all of your dirty clothes!

Let's look at a few ways a bench can be used at the end of a bed...

Obviously I love the faux bamboo look.  Great use of an animal print too

Totally different end of the spectrum.  Give them huge points for mixing a yellow tufted velvet bench with cowboy boots.  Love the way they stacked the books underneath too.  (Does that print in the background say "everything is shit"?...I don't believe them their bedroom is too pretty for everything to be shit)

A muuuuch more refined look.  It's like the bench gives your eyes a way to get off the end of the bed when you look at it instead of just having a severe drop off the edge.

This bench adds a HUGE pop of color in this room!  The legs look really unique and interesting too.

I would kill for a tufted bench with lucite legs.  A little too monochromatic for me...but still loving the look.

So all of this inspiration was gathered as a result of a recent FIND of mine...

I mean...crazy right!  Tufted MOHAIR blue bench with crazy gold legs.  I've put it in the booth at $155 because the mohair needs a little bit of cleaning that I think can just be handled with a wet wash cloth.  

I was going to keep it for myself, but now is not the time for me to start hoarding up on items when I need to figure out how to pay rent every month...so I unleash it on the world in the hopes that someone will take it, throw it at the end of their bed and create something beautiful like we've seen above!
