Did I get it?

I've hired an assistant.  He lets me pay him in bones.  He rides with me and helps me decide what items are excellent and should be brought back home with us.  He is Lewis of Lewis Dixon Interiors.

And so we have been searching...

Thought that this was a most excellent green sofa.  A little bit too ornate for my taste, but was sold by those round bolster pillows.  Did we get it?  No...it was not only really expensive, but it just doesn't fit into our aesthetic.  So sayeth Lewis.

Loved these chairs. There were four and they came with some crazy table with a mirrored base and a wood top.  It was something like $250 for the set but I had already spent a lot of money and just couldn't handle paying for a table that I was ultimately going to re-donate back to them.  So did I get them?  No...Should I have?  Probably yes.  These will haunt me for a while.  Because they would be fantastic re-upholstered and they are probably Milo Baughman.  I'm an idiot.  Lewis would like it noted that he would have bought these.

Amazing faux bamboo chippendale sofa.  It's super light which means it was probably made out of aluminum.  Someone had just newly recovered it, but in this terrible red and black microsuede shit that I really, really hate.  I'm thinking recovered though...this piece will be unreal.  So did I get it?  YES!  Yes  I did...thinking about throwing this one on One King's Lane...

There is one on 1st Dibs right now going for $2,180...

Couches like this are what make me get up in the morning.  Found it in a thrift store.  It was SO beat up though.  But can you imagine how striking it was in it's heyday?  Did I get it?  NO...ultimately right now I have too many projects that I say "oh I'll just get that re-upholstered," and not enough time to get them all done.  If it was pristine would I have gotten it?  In a heartbeat....

Ok so I used A to stand next to these blanc de chine lamps to show the sheer size of them.  He hates this picture, but whatever these lamps are huge and just about larger than his (overly long a la Michael Phelps) torso.  They work.  They light up on the inside.  Might need rewiring just for good measure.  Did I get them?  Abso-freaking-lutely!  Look at how big those are!  I have never seen such huge ones...and the price was out of this world.  Also thinking this is an OKL item..
