The 2nd Life of Chrome Stools

Ok so my thought for today is this:  While you only live once (that's the motto YOLO!), your furniture is more like a cat and probably has about 9 lives.  Case in point with some stools that I found a few weeks ago.  In my new apartment I have this great counter space area that demanded I bring in some stools.  I was scouring all of the internet discount websites...but that ish is STILL expensive for the 4 stools that I needed.  I mean yes I want lucite ghost bar stools, but I don't have a "job" anymore so I can't justify that.  So when I saw these bad (really, emphasis on the baaaad) boys at a local thrift store I splurged ($20 for all 4?  yes please) and brought them home with me.

These stools are staring back at you and saying "judge not lest ye be judged."  I mean lord only knows what these poor babies have been through....what grease and dirt stained tooshes have sat on them.  They have been through a lot...ok?

What I did like about them is the legs.  I thought that chrome, with the proper TLC, could be made to shine again, and I love that little circle of a foot rest.  Oh and they swivel...which doesn't hurt.

So with about $40 worth of faux fur from JoAnn's Fabrics and an f-ton of staples I took this:

again...just nasty

To this:

Meow.

What I love about re-covering things with fur is that it's not an exact science...the, well, furryness of the fur covers all manner of shape flaws...

And here are all 4 little soldiers waiting for my toosh to sit on them, along with the other cute tooshes of my friends...

Now for your listening pleasure...
